- In a former treatise, kd5lu spake thusly:
- -> Problem : I can connect just fine to jnos from windows. Problem is,
- -> after I connect to another ax25 station (via the connect
- -> command in the mb), each character I type gets sent out over
- -> the ax25 interface. The corresponding station does not know
- -> what to do with all my single character madness. This raises
- -> a couple of questions I would appreciate some input on:
-
-
- Try to set your WinDoze stuff so that it sends stuff line-at-a-time, insteaf
- of chracter-at-a-time.
-
- I'm not at all sure whether that can be accomplished, though..It seems the
- WinDoze winsock stuff just doesn't take into account that anyone might
- want to use it on a slow radio network...

- Upon connecting to my jnos box from my windows winsock dll via an enet
- adapter,
- all is well until I "connect" to another station via the mb connect feature.
- My
- windows
- telnet is xmiting each character to jnos, and this in turn is getting put on
- the
- ax25
- interface (each character). Should the windows software xmit one character
- at a
- time,
- or should it wait until I hit enter (cr) and xmit an entire packet of text ?
- I a
- m using
- the Trumpet winsock, and its pretty current. Please advise and tnx.

- From: brian@wimsey.com (Brian Murrell)
- Subject: using KA9Q as an internet router
- To: tcp-group@ucsd.edu
-
- Hi All,
-
- You'll have to excuse my ignorance here, as I'm new to this list,
- and KA9Q. I was advised by somebody at my internet provider that I could
- use KA9Q to set up an inexpensive internet router. What I want to do is
- put a machine on our net that would dial our internet provider when a packet
- arrives at it destined for the internet. I would prever to use PPP for the
- dial protocol, but CSLIP would be fine as an alternate.
-
- I got a verion of KA9Q from the net, and have it on a machine in
- our net, talking to the rest of our local net. What I can't figure out is
- how to actually get the PPP interface to dial out, and then dial out when
- a packet arrives for the internet.
-
- I'm hoping somebody can point me to a KA9Q distribution, or document
- on how to do this sort of thing.
-
- Thanx,
- b.
